Legacy Traditional School – Goodyear is the best elementary school. It has about 581 students in grades K–8 and a student–teacher ratio of about 16:1. The school has about 50% of students who are proficient at math and 41% who are proficient at reading, making it one of the best charter schools in the area. The student population is 50% female students and 50% male students. Legacy students do better in both core subjects than Somerset Skyway and Desert Thunder students. Most graduates go to BASIS Goodyear or a public high school that does well. The school puts a lot of emphasis on structured academics, citizenship, and classical education. Families thinking about moving to Goodyear will find 3-bedroom rental homes that cost between $2,200 and $3,000 a month on average. Many people praise Legacy Traditional for its strict academic standards, character-building programs, and family-friendly culture.
