Black Elk Elementary School shared that Justin Zeleski, an orchestra director and strings teacher, received the Gary Thomas Distinguished Music Alumnus Award. The recognition highlights his contributions to music education across the district.

Ans. SchoolMessenger, teacher newsletters, and the school website keep families up-to-date on academics and events.
Q2. What does the school do to help students who speak more than one language?
Ans. Black Elk provides English Learner services that are in line with OPS district supports. This procedure helps students learn content while also improving their language skills.
Q3. What chances do students have to learn science by doing things?
Ans. Students do experiments, make observations, and work on science units that are in line with the district's goals. These units focus on asking questions and applying what they learn to real life.
Q4: What does Black Elk do to help students stay healthy during the school day?
Ans. To help students stay focused and healthy, teachers include structured movement time, reminders to drink water, and district wellness practices.
Q5. How does the school help younger students learn to be responsible?
Ans. Students do things like classroom jobs, organizing materials, and structured transitions every day to help them become more independent.
