Norfolk is a small city in northeastern Nebraska with a lively, tight-knit community. Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) is the public school system in Norfolk. It has about a dozen schools, including seven elementary schools, a preschool program, a middle school, a junior high, and high schools. More than 4,500 students go to these schools. There are both public and private elementary schools in Norfolk. Families can choose between NPS elementary schools and private and religiously affiliated elementary schools. The district focuses on a comprehensive education model. In addition to core academics, NPS offers early childhood education, summer enrichment, activities before and after school, counseling services, advanced technology integration, and career readiness programs.
