Being Updated
In August 2024, the school was officially renamed North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences. The new name will be used starting in the 2025–26 school year.
The name change comes with a big change: the campus will go from serving Pre-K–5 to eventually Pre-K–8, and it will use a project-based learning model based on agriculture and veterinary science as part of the district's "E4" initiative.
Q1. Why is Seventh Street Elementary School changing its name or structure?
Ans. The school board voted to change the name to North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences to honor the North Little Rock Six and give the school a hands-on agriculture and veterinary science theme.
Q2. What will be different about the new themed school model?
Ans. The district's "E4" innovation plan will change the school from a regular elementary school to a Pre-K through 8th-grade campus. It will also use project-based learning in all subjects and add agriculture and veterinary science to the curriculum.
Q3. Who is in charge of the school while this change is going on?
Ans. As of early 2024, Larissa Harrison was named principal to help the school change its structure and focus on new themes.
Q4. After the school is reconfigured, will it accept students from outside its original zone?
Ans. Yes, extra seats will be available through a lottery to allow more students to attend under the new academy model.
Q5. Does the school get extra help or money during this time of change?
Ans. Yes, the plan to reconfigure includes a stipend incentive for licensed staff to help attract and keep teachers. It also supports more teaching resources as part of the "E4" transformation initiative.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
