Last week, Airport Heights Elementary School became a center of holiday cheer thanks to the annual Operation Warm coat drive. This is a great example of Anchorage's unbreakable spirit. On a clear November morning, volunteers from the Anchorage Fire Department, Matson, Span Alaska, and Nuvision came to the school with bright new coats and warm hand-knit hats, ready to protect the students from the cold. The event was full of excitement as dedicated volunteers helped eager young people choose from racks of colorful options, making sure that each coat had enough room to grow and fit their style.
