Erica Gomez

Erica Gomez is a graduate admissions consultant who has helped students navigate the complex graduate school application process since September 2016 through her independent consulting practice. She assists students from start to finish in researching and selecting programs that align with their academic and career goals, offering personalized advice on factors like location, curriculum and program fit. She guides students through every component of their application, including brainstorming and writing compelling personal statements, preparing strong CVs, securing recommendation letters and preparing for interviews. Her goal is to simplify the admissions process, provide clarity and empower students to present their best selves to admissions committees, working closely with each student to ensure they feel confident and prepared for their next step in their academic journey. Since May 2024, she has also worked as a Graduate Admissions Consultant with AcceptU, providing personalized admissions counseling to prospective graduate students, offering in-depth feedback on application materials and conducting one-on-one advising sessions on application strategies, interview preparation and program-specific requirements.

Before launching her independent consulting practice, Erica gained valuable admissions experience as Assistant Director of Executive MBA Admissions at Goizueta Business School at Emory University from 2008 to August 2010. In this role, she assisted in managing a comprehensive admissions process for two EMBA program formats while maintaining high admissions standards as a member of the admissions committee. She supported ethical admissions processes through conducting interviews, application reviews and ensuring alignment with enrollment objectives, led planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus events including international engagements, collaborated with senior executives and alumni to develop a robust pipeline of qualified candidates, developed and executed targeted marketing strategies to attract diverse high-caliber candidates, and managed CRM systems to track and cultivate relationships with prospective candidates. Her earlier career included roles in marketing, business operations and retail management. From January 2011 to October 2023, she owned and operated Whoa Doggy! Pet Sitting, a fully insured and bonded in-home pet sitting service, where she managed all aspects of hiring, training, budgeting, financial planning and marketing efforts. She also worked as Marketing Manager at Siteworx from August 2010 to January 2011, Market Specialist at Tom Ford in 2008, Market Entry Consultant for ARCOR/La Campagnola, Senior Retail Manager at MAC Cosmetics from May 2005 to July 2006, and Media Assistant at Center for Communication Health Issues, where she wrote copy for publications and websites.?

Erica holds an IMBA in International Business, Marketing and Management from the University of San Diego, where she served as VP of Finance for the Graduate Business Student Association, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Rutgers Universit,y where she was involved in Advanced Health Communication. Her combination of MBA admissions experience, business and marketing background, and deep understanding of graduate program requirements positions her to provide comprehensive guidance to students pursuing graduate education.
