About Rebecca Field
Rebecca Field is Director of Rebecca Field Consulting, founded in October 2007 in Oakland, California, where she supports students with learning differences including Asperger's Syndrome, NLD, ADD and ADHD through college selection and admission processes. RFC also works with current college students as College Success and Retention Coaches and serves Bayhill High School, Compass High School and private Bay Area families. Work occurs in her Oakland office, on college campuses and via Skype, with a focus on college admission advising for high school students and success coaching for college students.
Since October 2014, Rebecca has served as Director of College Advising at Bayhill High School in Berkeley, where Rebecca Field Consulting works with Bayhill families on college and post high school planning. From August 2008 to October 2014, she worked as College Advisor at Bayhill, advising students with learning differences on post high school educational opportunities, college selection and admission processes and crafting personal statements. From September 2010 to July 2011, she was Director of Admissions at Bayhill High School, coordinating admissions fairs and representing the school in the Bay Area community. Since August 2014, she has served as College Advising Consultant at Compass High School in San Mateo. From August 2007 to May 2008, she worked as College Advisor at Orion Academy, helping seniors and juniors find appropriate post high school placements.
Rebecca's career includes extensive leadership in independent schools. From August 2000 to June 2006, she was founding Academic Dean at Julia Morgan School for Girls, overseeing daily operations for 180 students, mentoring 15 teachers, writing curriculum, aiding hiring, assisting admissions, representing the school at conferences, helping with high school placement, teaching middle school English and shaping school culture. From 1997 to 2000, she served as Middle School Director at Live Oak School, mentoring seven teachers, overseeing operations, writing curriculum, teaching English, helping admissions and serving in school leadership. From September 1994 to June 1997, she taught Humanities and coordinated Service Learning at Brandeis Hillel Day School. Rebecca holds a Certificate in College Admissions and Career Planning from UC Berkeley Extension, a Certificate in Business Planning from Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, an M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Junior Year Abroad in History from UCL and a BA in History from Vassar College.?
