About Nancy (Jamieson) Wigley
Nancy Wigley is an independent educational consultant and founder of College Search Strategies, providing one-to-one support and guidance with all aspects of college search, application and college choice since June 2008 in Portola Valley, California. She works in person and virtually with sophomores, juniors and seniors using individualized programs tailored to each student. Her services include assessment and coaching for major and career interests, with special experience supporting athletes through NCAA rules, eligibility and recruiting, theater and music students, and those leaving applications to the last minute. She is a 6-year certified WOW Writing Workshop Essay Coach and Partner.
Nancy holds a UCLA Certificate in College Counseling, an MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, an MS in Audiology from the University of Denver, a BS in Communication Disorders from the University of New Hampshire, and attended the International School of Geneva in Switzerland. She is a member of NACAC, WACAC, HECA and a professional member of IECA, adhering to their ethics and principles. From 2008 to 2010, she worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at JFKU Community Counseling Center, a trainee at Hyde Middle School from October 2009 to June 2010, working one-on-one with students and parents, and a trainee at Eaton Elementary School from October 2008 to June 2009, working with individual students and parents referred by teachers and principal.
Nancy also holds a Certificate in Marketing and Merchandising from FIDM-LA, reflecting her diverse educational background spanning counseling, audiology, communication disorders and marketing. Her multifaceted experience enables her to provide comprehensive support addressing both academic and personal development needs of college applicants.
