About Ellen Fisher
Ellen Fisher is the founder and principal of College4u, where she provides comprehensive, end-to-end college planning and coaching for high school and transfer students across the Bay Area, the United States, and internationally. With more than 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area and a background that spans education and lead-generation consulting, she brings both educational insight and practical, process-driven organization to every family she works with.?
At College4u, Ellen helps students and families build a well-researched college “short list,” guiding decisions around majors, minors, and undeclared options while ensuring that applications and essays remain the student’s own authentic work. She advises on high school curriculum choices, summer programs, community service, and extracurricular activities, and maximizes strengths for students with talents in athletics or the arts. Ellen carefully plans college visits—often personally accompanying students—so families get the most from each campus experience.?
Ellen has particular expertise working with students who have unique learning styles, supported by her M.A. in Learning Disabilities and Remedial Reading. She also offers guidance on financial considerations when appropriate and can connect families with trusted partners for test preparation and academic tutoring. Families and students describe her as enthusiastic, practical, organized, and thorough, with a special talent for working with young adults and reducing stress in a complex process.?
