Sunita Verma

Sunita Verma is an independent college counselor based in Palo Alto who works with high school students and families to make the college application process less stressful and more strategic. She has led Sunita College Consulting since 2013 and has guided students across the United States and abroad through course selection, summer planning and balanced college list development tailored to academic, financial and personal fit. Her work includes support for major application platforms such as the Common Application, UC application, Coalition Application and a wide range of supplemental essays.

Sunita brings a strong STEM background to her counseling practice after earlier work as a scientist at DNAX Research Institute and the University of Michigan Health System in stem cell and genetic therapy. This experience informs her guidance for students interested in science, technology and health-related fields, including applicants to graduate-level health programs such as medical, physical therapy and physician assistant schools. She also serves as Executive Director of Shanti Raj Education Fund, reflecting a long-term commitment to educational access and need-based support for students.
