Wheeling, West Virginia, is an old city with about 27,000 people living along the Ohio River in the northern panhandle. Wheeling is a good place for families to live because it has older neighborhoods and is home to regional medical and business centers. There are a lot of public and private schools in the city that help students with their basic academics. Schools put a lot of stress on reading, math, and activities outside of school. Housing is still affordable, and neighborhoods are well-established, which is better than the national average. Wheeling is still a good place for middle school because the people there are proud of it and the schools are always open.
