Students at Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for Dance are spending more time rehearsing as they get ready for spring performances, while still attending regular classes. Different groups are putting together short dance pieces that they’ll show at school events. Teachers are handling rehearsal schedules along with regular classes so nothing gets pushed aside. Families are already getting excited about the performances coming up later in the term.
Q1. What makes Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for Dance different from other NYC middle schools?
Ans. Students spend part of the day in regular classes and part in dance training, so their schedule is always split between the two.
Q2. Do students need prior dance experience to join Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for Dance?
Ans. No. Students are chosen through auditions, even if they haven’t trained in dance before.
Q3. Are performances part of school life at Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for Dance?
Ans. Yes. Students perform during the year and show what they’ve been practicing in dance.
Q4. How is a typical day structured at Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for Dance?
Ans. The school day is split between classroom lessons and scheduled dance practice.
Q5. Is Ballet Tech/NYC Public School Did Dance focus only on dance training?
Ans. No. Students also follow regular academic classes along with their dance program.
