Nevada has improved its middle school education through Accountability Reform standards and strong charter school leadership. According to the Nevada School Performance Framework, 30% of Nevada schools received a 4- or 5-star rating in 2025, up from 9% in prior years, and 70% of schools reduced chronic absenteeism. Students across the state made progress in both Math and English Language Arts. As a result, many students who were previously considered "at risk" have improved their academic performance across all subject areas.
