Nevada has improved its middle school education through Accountability Reform standards and strong charter school leadership. According to the Nevada School Performance Framework, 30% of Nevada schools received a 4- or 5-star rating in 2025, up from 9% in prior years, and 70% of schools reduced chronic absenteeism. Students across the state made progress in both Math and English Language Arts. As a result, many students who were previously considered "at risk" have improved their academic performance across all subject areas. With the Nevada Open Enrollment policy, which went into effect in 2025, families have more options to choose high-performing schools. Parents can confidently select the best middle school in Nevada for their child.
