According to data, Kentucky Middle Schools have demonstrated significant growth in 2025, with a high percentage of the best middle schools in Kentucky demonstrating progress and academic development, while also exhibiting the most favorable overall ratings in terms of Educational Quality (Educational Quality Rating). With nearly 320 (3,200) Middle Schools in 172 School Districts, Kentucky best-performing Middle Schools were identified as nearly double that of the Highest State Rating Category. Reading Proficiency was at 47% and Mathematics was at 41% in these schools, and improved every year. The average student-teacher Ratio in high-performing Middle Schools is 13 to 1, which allows for effective Individualized Learning and Student Achievement. Kentucky Numeracy Counts Act has been established to enhance Math instruction throughout the State.
