Macon is a historic city in central Georgia with a population of about 157,000. People know this city for its Southern culture and its long history of music. It has a laid-back, family-friendly way of life and strong ties to the people who live there. It has a lot of public middle schools, as well as a few private and religious schools. It serves a wide range of students. The school system really wants to improve academics, be open to everyone, and get kids involved in things outside of school, like sports, the arts, and STEM programs. Some schools have been praised by the state for how well they are doing in school. Families who want their kids to get a good middle school education should move to Macon. The city is focused on getting people involved in the community and learning.
