Laramie, which has about 33,000 people living in it, is a lively university town in southeastern Wyoming. It is also known as the "Gem City of the Plains." The public schools are very good, with a central high school that is always ranked as one of the best in Wyoming for preparing students for college and doing well in school. The curriculum focuses on a wide range of Advanced Placement classes and extracurricular activities, from strong arts programs to competitive sports.
