About Salt Lake Center for Science Education

The Salt Lake Center for Science Education is a public laboratory school in Salt Lake City, Utah, that only serves students in grades 6–12. It is the only high school in its district and is known as one of the best schools for STEM education because it uses an inquiry-based approach. The Salt Lake Center for Science Education has successfully started a new field-based research project that adds data from local watersheds to the main science curriculum. Students are now using new biotechnology tools to do their own research on genetic sequencing and protecting the environment. There is also a student-led sustainability committee on campus that is in charge of a community garden and greenhouse project that has grown recently.
