The school has about 3,300 students in grades 9 through 12 and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1. The school is known as one of the best because it offers a variety of academic paths, including an Advanced Placement program that 26% of students take part in. East Central High School is celebrating big academic and extracurricular achievements, such as being named a CTE District of Distinction for its outstanding career and technical education. The campus is getting ready for the Class of 2026 graduation, which will take place on May 27 at the Alamodome. The school's Electrathon Team also did very well at the High Plains competition, coming in second place. Several students also made it onto the Texas All-State Choir, which is a big deal.
