There are about 1,900 students at the school, and the student-teacher ratio is about 15:1, which keeps class sizes small enough for good teaching. Coronado High School has a regular college-prep curriculum, as well as Advanced Placement (AP) classes, career and technical education, and dual-credit options. These help students get ready for college and the job market. There are a lot of different ethnic groups in the student body. The majority of students are Hispanic (about 50%), but there are also White, African American, and other groups. As part of their graduation and college readiness planning, most students at Coronado High School take college entrance tests like the SAT and ACT.
