YES Prep—Southside is a public charter school in Houston, Texas, that only serves students in grades 6 through 12. It is part of the YES Prep Public Schools Inc. network and is known as one of the best schools because it prepares students for college. The campus has about 900 students and about 17 students for every teacher. It is known for being very academic, with an amazing 100% participation rate in Advanced Placement courses and tests. The school has a lot of different students. 99% of them are minorities, and 94% of them are low-income. According to performance data, 41% of students are good at reading and 32% are good at math. Taking the SAT and ACT is another way for students to get ready for college.
