In April 2026, both the boys' and girls' varsity soccer teams from Wakeland High School won regional titles, making it a historic athletic season. They both made it to the state semifinals. The campus is still known for its academic excellence. Recently, several seniors were named National Merit Finalists, which puts them in the top one percent of students in the country. The school's Independent Study & Mentorship (ISM) students also did a great job with their Spring Showcase, which included advanced research projects in areas like aerospace engineering, space law, and pediatric nutrition.
