Coronado High School is a top public high school in El Paso, Texas, for students in grades 9 through 12. It is one of the best schools in the El Paso Independent School District and has a strong enrollment, with about 17 students for every teacher. Coronado High School is known as one of the best schools in the area. It has a tough curriculum that includes Advanced Placement (AP) classes, which 41% of students take. The student body is very diverse, with 90% of students being minorities and 58% of students being economically disadvantaged. The school has a good balance of academic success, with 59% of students doing well in Reading and 50% doing well in Math. Students also take extra tests like the SAT and ACT on a regular basis to improve their chances of getting into college. Recently, Coronado High School celebrated the end of a lot of work to modernize the campus. The new Building B has interactive classrooms and better plumbing systems. The athletic department has also made big strides, with new turf for the baseball, softball, and football fields and renovated tennis courts to help student-athletes. The campus continues to encourage high levels of achievement in school. Recently, students earned the title of National Merit Scholars and were the best in the state in fine arts and debate competitions.
