Spearfish, a pretty town, has a population of about 13,000 people. It is in the Northern Black Hills and is known for having a great quality of life and a lot of things to do outside. People have a lot of respect for the city high school education. The curriculum is mostly about getting students ready for college, environmental science, and a lot of extracurricular activities, like sports and music, that have won awards. Schools in the area have won National Blue Ribbon awards in the past, which shows how hard they work to be the best. Families move to Spearfish because of the beautiful scenery and the great public schools that get their intellectual energy from the university.
