Akron, Ohio, has a lot of history and is a very interesting place. About 190,000 people live there, and it is in Summit County. People there are very proud of the new things that have been done in the past, and the downtown area has changed a lot. There is also a strong sense of community that really comes through. There are some private and charter schools in addition to Akron Public Schools, which is in charge of most of the elementary education in this area. Getting kids to read early, teaching them science, technology, engineering, and math, and helping them figure out what they want to do for a living are all very important to our school.
