About Athena High School

Athena High School is a public high school in Rochester, New York. It is one of four high schools in the Greece Central School District and serves students in grades 9–12. The school has about 1,200 to 1,400 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1, which makes it a good size for a suburban high school. Athena High School has a full college-prep curriculum, including Advanced Placement® (AP) courses that 46% of students take. This gives students a chance to engage in challenging academic work. Latest news & World Report says that the school is the 645th best in New York. For the school year 2025–2026, proficiency data shows that 56% of students met math standards and 79% met reading/ELA standards. This shows that students are doing well in both reading and math. There is a moderate amount of diversity among the students, with 44% being minorities and about 48% being economically disadvantaged.
