Las Cruces has about 114,000 residents and is the second largest city in New Mexico. It is located next to the Organ Mountains and has a lively Southwest lifestyle. A big public district and a few private and charter schools run most of the high schools in this area. The focus is on STEM, bilingual education, and preparing students for jobs. Several schools have been recognized nationally for their high graduation rates.
