Dickinson is a busy city with about 25,000 people. It is the gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The culture is a mix of old Western ways and new ways of getting energy. There is a big public high school and a few private ones that offer high school education. They all use a "whole-student" approach. Strong career and technical education programs and a very active sports culture help students do well in school. People have praised the school system for having a lot of students and being dedicated to vocational excellence. Families like Dickinson because it has easy access to the outdoors and a school district that stays close-knit and supportive even though the city has grown a lot.
