Harrison Central High School is a well-known public high school in the Harrison County School District. It is located in Gulfport and teaches grades 9 through 12. It has about 1,500 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1, making it one of the best schools in Mississippi. The school is known for having a wide range of classes, including Advanced Placement classes that 27% of students take. With 64% of students being minorities and 74% being economically disadvantaged, the campus has a multicultural feel, and it is one of the best High School in "Mississippi" . Harrison Central High School has high academic standards, with 70% of students doing well in math and 49% doing well in reading. The school helps students take the ACT and SAT tests to help them reach their goals after high school. The school offers a full educational experience and is known for having a strong community reputation and competitive sports programs. Harrison Central High School recently held its first "Real World" event. This event was meant to give seniors real-world skills and insights into the working world. The school is still very competitive. Recently, Marcus Connor and Maya Hardy were named Lindy Callahan Scholar Athletes for their outstanding performance in both the classroom and on the field. The 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, which focuses on improving infrastructure and giving all students more access to technology, is also helping the campus.

Ans. Yes, of course! Advanced classes push students and help them do better in school.

Ans. Yes, students can learn how to be leaders by joining student groups, working on group projects, and mentoring other students.

Ans. Yes, Harrison Central High School lets students who want to go to college take both the SAT and the ACT.
