Gulfport High School is a well-known public school in Gulfport, Mississippi, and it's the only high school in the district for students in grades 9 through 12. It has about 1,600 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 17:1. It is known as one of the best schools in the state. The school is well-known for its strict academic standards, especially its Academic Institutes and Advanced Placement programs, which 40% of students take part in. There are a lot of different kinds of students at the school. 64% of them are minorities, and 61% of them are low-income, and it is one of the best High School in "Mississippi" . Gulfport High School has great academic results, with 88% of students doing well in math and 61% doing well in reading. Students also benefit from having easy access to college entrance tests like the ACT and SAT. The school is in a coastal community where the median home price is steadily rising. It is known for having state-of-the-art facilities and a reputation for excellence. The Gulfport Rising project is a multi-phase campus expansion project that includes building a new football stadium on campus and more parking. Gulfport High School has officially started it. The school's specialized Waterworks Academy is also doing well; its first class of seniors is getting ready for national licensing tests in environmental management. The campus celebrated a big academic honor when senior Jackson Pearce was named a 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar for his outstanding leadership and scholarship.
