The Lafayette Parish School Board recently approved a $5 million budget for the construction of a new competition gymnasium for David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy. The gym will be able to hold 1,000 people. The academy also recently made the 2025 AP School Honor Roll with a Gold distinction for its success in giving students a wide range of college-level courses. The school is also working on building partnerships with local businesses through its new Adopt-A-School program for the 2025–2026 school year. This will help students get more resources and career advice.
