Warren County has ten high schools, and this one is one of them. It serves about 150 students in a specialized and supportive learning environment. The academy is known as one of the best schools because it focuses on each student and has a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1 to help each student grow, and it is one of the best High School in "Kentucky" . Lighthouse Academy has a 37% total minority enrollment, and 67% of its students are from families with low incomes. The school says that only 5% of its students are good at math because it focuses on flexible credit recovery and graduation pathways. With help from the district, the school is known as one of the best schools for getting students back into school with a non-traditional curriculum. Its main promise is to create a dedicated learning community that helps students get past obstacles and finish high school.

Lighthouse Academy has started a new flexible scheduling model that lets students do their schoolwork while also doing internships and work-study jobs outside of school. The school recently teamed up with local technical colleges so that high school students can start getting industry-recognized certifications. The academy's new success coaching program, which gives students one-on-one help with their personal and professional goals, supports these efforts.
