There are about 1,400 students at the school, and the student-to-teacher ratio is about 17:1. This means that the teachers can plan lessons. The student body is very diverse, with about 91% of students coming from groups that are not the majority. This is because the people who live in Peoria come from many different cultures. Peoria High School has a lot of different academic programs, such as Advanced Placement® classes and tests. About 11% of students take AP classes. It also has electives and activities outside of school that are all about careers. In the 2025–2026 school year, 1% of students were good at math and 4% were good at reading and English Language Arts (ELA). The school also offers the SAT and ACT for students who want to go to college. Public money pays for things like teaching, student services, and a lot of extracurricular activities.

Peoria High School is very excited! The school recently celebrated some great things that students have done, like two seniors who are in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program getting full-ride scholarships to Ivy League schools. To help students get ready for college, the school is also offering ACT tutoring sessions. The Peoria High Football Team also put up another plaque in the trophy case to show how hard they worked and how much they cared.
