The Susan H. Nelson School has recently added to its blended learning model. This gives students a flexible, multimodal environment that includes both independent study and one-on-one time with a teacher. The school has successfully brought the Excelsior Academy into its fold, giving its diverse students in grades 6–12 more academic options. The campus is also putting community involvement first by raising the district-wide graduation requirement for community service to forty hours. This will encourage seniors to get involved in their communities.
