There are about 1,200 students on campus, and for every 19 students, there is one teacher. It is known as one of the best schools in the district and offers a lot of different classes, including Advanced Placement classes, which 37% of students take to get college credit. The campus is diverse, with 95% of its students being from minority groups and 42% being low-income. The most recent data on student proficiency shows that 58% of students are good at reading and 25% are good at math. Students also take the SAT and ACT, which are standard tests that help them plan for college after high school. South San Francisco High School is starting a new trades program that gives students a direct path to careers in fields like plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. The school's counselors recently put together a Senior Family Night to help students and their families figure out what to do after graduation and how to plan for college. The school's baseball team had a great season and has always done well in their division.
