The Pacific Collegiate Charter School is a public charter school in Santa Cruz, California, for students in grades 7 through 12. There are about 550 to 600 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 16 students. Pacific Collegiate Charter puts a lot of emphasis on a college-preparatory curriculum that includes a lot of writing, critical thinking, and advanced coursework. It has a lot of Advanced Placement (AP) classes and tells students to do their own research, study the humanities, and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Pacific Collegiate Charter students do very well in school. 68% of them do well in math and 79% do well in reading.
