John O'Connell High School is currently working on a big infrastructure project for the 2025–2026 school year that will upgrade the building's envelope to make sure the learning environment is up to date. Students are doing very well in four specialized, project-based learning pathways, such as Building and Construction Trades and Health and Behavioral Sciences. These pathways give students direct access to internships and college-level courses. The school is also making its commitment to 21st-century skills stronger by holding a new series of site-based summits where students and their families work together to set academic goals for the future.
