The school community is honoring the person after whom it is named right now because Ruth Asawa was posthumously given the National Medal of Arts, the highest award for creativity in the US. There will also be more sports for students in the 2025–2026 school year. Along with their intense arts training, this will give them more competitive options, like golf, track and field, and soccer. The campus also recently held special graduation ceremonies and parties for student unions to honor the seniors who received the Biliteracy Seal and other important community awards.
