About High Tech High

The first public charter school in San Diego is High Tech High. It is also the main school in its district. People say it's one of the best schools because it teaches students in grades 9–12 how to use both technical and academic skills through projects. There are about 600 students at the school, and 72% of them are from minority groups and 37% are low-income. High Tech High is a great school for academics. 72% of the students can read and 35% can do math. Students often take the SAT and ACT to get ready for college, and the curriculum is mostly about working together to come up with ideas and ask questions. Latest News

Recently, High Tech High celebrated the success of its robotics team, the Holy Cows. They won all their matches at the San Diego Regional to earn a spot in the World Championships. The school has also added more dual enrollment partnerships with the University of San Diego and San Diego Mesa College. This lets more students earn college credits in subjects like Multivariable Calculus and Engineering Mechanics. The campus is also hosting the Deeper Learning 2026 conference this spring, which will bring together teachers and students to show off new project-based learning and build connections in the community.
