It is known as one of the best schools because it has programs in many languages and cultures that make about 1,100 students feel welcome. 44% of students at Crawford High are good at reading, and 11% are good at math. 34% of students take the school's hard Advanced Placement classes, and it also sets up college entrance exams like the SAT and ACT. The school is in the middle of the city and is known for having a strong sense of community and specialized support services. Crawford High is one of the best schools because it believes in teaching everyone and promises to help its diverse students become better global citizens and do better in school, and it is one of the best high school in California.

Crawford High School has just finished a major renovation of its campus. The new Performing Arts and Student Support building has three floors, a 450-seat theater, and twenty modern classrooms. As part of its College, Career, and Technical Education (CCTE) program, the campus now has a new automotive center where students can get specialized technical training. The San Diego Unified Board also recently moved forward with plans for affordable housing for workers nearby, which will further integrate the school into a community hub that is coming back to life.
