Orland is a small, rural city in Glenn County with about 8,300 people. It has a close-knit, rural way of life that focuses on community and heritage. Public and charter schools that stress a personal, supportive learning environment are the main sources of high school education in Orland, providing students with individualized attention and fostering strong relationships between teachers and students. The local high school is known for having outstanding sports programs. It is one of the top 60 high schools in California for athletes.
