The Oakland Military Institute is getting ready for its 2026–2027 school lottery, which officially happened on March 2, 2024. This will bring in a new class of future leaders. Cadets are currently benefiting from expanded Dual Enrollment finals and college-credit opportunities through partnerships with local colleges. The school also recently held its Winter Showcase, which showed off the many talents of students in both military and academic fields. The academy also continues to honor students who have done great things, like the recent alumna who was named the Oakland Youth Poet Laureate.
