Modesto High School is one of the eight high schools in the Modesto City High district. It is known as a top school with a long history in the area. The school serves grades 9 through 12 and has about 2,400 students, which means that there is about one teacher for every 22 students. 19% of students take Advanced Placement classes and tests.The campus has a diverse student body, with 93% of students being minorities and 80% of students being economically disadvantaged. The district's modernization bond will pay for the installation of a new solar canopy and high-performance synthetic turf field at Modesto High School. This is part of the school's commitment to building infrastructure that lasts. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program at the school is still going strong. Recently, students finished big community service projects that combined global and local perspectives. The campus is also getting ready for the spring 2026 performing arts showcase, which will show off the work of the choir, band, and theater departments working together in the newly renovated auditorium spaces.
