About Polytechnic High

Long Beach Poly is a public high school in Long Beach, California. It's in the Long Beach Unified School District, and students in grades 9 through 12 go there to learn. This school has about 2,200 students. About one teacher for every 24 students, which is pretty normal for a classroom. If you need a little extra help, they also offer academic support services. At Poly High, you can take AP, honors, and cool electives in science, art, and even history to get ready for college. The school also really pushes kids to get involved outside of class, like in sports, robotics, music, and the performing arts. Most of the students come from minority backgrounds, which is similar to the makeup of Long Beach itself. So, 31% of students are doing well in math, and 52% are doing well in reading. We help students with things like intervention programs, tutoring, and getting ready for college. This includes studying for and taking the SAT. Polytechnic High School is in the middle of a busy city where homes and businesses are next to each other.
