Independence Continuation High School is currently focusing on student leadership and civic engagement through its participation in High School Voter Education Weeks, which promote lifelong active citizenship. The school also keeps the academic environment flexible. For example, it just finished its five-week grading period in February 2026 to help students keep track of how close they are to graduating. The campus has also kept its promise to be open to everyone by making sure that all of its facilities, including entrances and parking lots, are fully accessible to people in wheelchairs.
