Sunnyside High School is a well-known public high school in Fresno, California that serves students in grades 9 through 12. It is one of 16 high schools in the Fresno Unified School District and has about 2,900 students, with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 23:1. The school is known as one of the best because it focuses on preparing students for college and has a 43% AP® participation rate. The campus is home to a very diverse community, with 98% of students being minorities and 90% of them being from low-income families. Sunnyside High School says that 46% of its students are good at reading and 10% are good at math. The school is in a neighborhood where the median home price is about $350,000. It is known for having a strong sense of community and for its "Doctors Academy" partnership. Overall, the school looks like it will do a great job of encouraging students to work hard and grow as people in a welcoming setting, and it is one of the best high school in California.

University High School students are still doing well in school and in the arts. Recently, 33 members of the DECA chapter qualified for the 2026 State Competition. The school stays true to its unique commitment to music education by requiring all students to take four years of music theory and participate in specialized ensembles along with their college-prep classes. Also, the San Joaquin Valley Town Hall recently honored student accomplishments by giving a UHS student a prestigious scholarship for their academic and leadership potential.
