Barry J. Nidorf School is currently working on a plan to modernize and depopulate the entire school. The goal is to move students into smaller, more therapeutic learning environments that better meet their individual needs. The school has added to its unique rehabilitation programs, such as the Homeboy Art Academy, which gives students creative ways to heal and express themselves. Students are also taking part in the Wolf Connection program, which uses animal-assisted therapy to help them deal with trauma and build character.
