About Options for Youth-Acton

Options for Youth-Acton is a public charter school that offers specialized educational services to students in grades 9 through 12. It is the only high school in its district and is known as one of the best because it offers a flexible, independent study model and has a 6% participation rate in Advanced Placement® courses. The academy has about 1,400 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 25:1. This means that each student gets the attention they need to reach their goals and fit their schedule. There are a lot of different cultures represented among the students. 87% of them are minorities, and 84% of them are economically disadvantaged. The data shows that 4% of students are good at math and 33% of students are good at reading. Students can also take the SAT and ACT, which are tests for getting into college. Options for Youth-Acton is one of the most well-known schools for non-traditional learning. Its strengths are its dedicated student support services and its promise to provide an easy, flexible way to graduate, and it is one of the best high school in California.

Options for Youth-Acton is making school better for students in the 2025–2026 school year by adding hands-on career exploration modules that let students earn credits while learning about different fields of work. The school recently updated its digital learning platform so that students can more easily access interactive lessons and get real-time feedback from their certified teachers. The campus is also adding more experiential learning trips, which are great opportunities for students to grow as people and get involved in their communities outside of school.
