Corona del Mar High School is a top public high school in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District's coastal area. It is known as one of the best schools for grades 7 through 12 because of its high academic standards and focus on preparing students for college. The school has a lot of students, with about 25 students for every teacher. It has one of the best Advanced Placement® participation rates in California, with 69% of students taking the test. There are 37% minority students and 23% economically disadvantaged students in the student body. The school is very good at academics, with 70% of students reading and 53% of students doing math. Corona del Mar High School is one of the best schools because it has strong community support and high academic standards. It is located in an area where the median home price is over $3 million. Families still choose the school as their top choice because it has a sophisticated atmosphere that helps students get ready for top colleges, and it is one of the best high school in California.

People praised Corona del Mar High School in 2024–2025 for doing a great job of making the school a better place to be through its successful Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs. The "AI Parentology" series is happening on campus right now and will go on until early 2026. It is a new program that helps families talk about and understand how AI affects school and daily life. In 2025, the school's sports teams are also having a great fall season. Many of them are getting bigger and winning championships.
