It is known as one of the best schools in its area and has a full curriculum that includes Advanced Placement courses and tests. 21% of students take AP courses and tests. About 1,200 students go to the school, and there is one teacher for every 23 students. The boys' basketball team from Coalinga High School recently made it to the CIF State Division V championship game, which was a big deal in the school's sports history. The new All4Youth Wellness Center on campus is also helping students by offering mental health services and a safe place for all students to be. Students can also take part in the ongoing "Counselor Connect" program, which gives them one-on-one help with planning their college and career paths right in the counseling office.
