The Petersen Alternative Center for Education recently put in place a new Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) reward system that rewards students for being leaders and doing well in school. The Stanislaus County Office of Education's expanded Career Technical Education (CTE) partnerships are also helping the campus by giving students direct access to vocational training in high-demand local industries. The school has also added a special social-emotional learning curriculum to help students learn useful life skills and ways to deal with problems after they graduate.
